AQA Capital makes six hires for Italian Push

Maltese independent asset manager AQA Capital has made six appointments for its sales team in Italy barely one year after landing in Milan. Franco Quartero, appointed as branch manager and financial adviser, previously worked at UniCredit Sim, Xelion and Fineco. Cristiana Brocchetti, named business developer and financial adviser, worked before at Lehman Brothers, HSBC, Collins Stewart and Abaxbanx.

Antonio Midolo has been named business developer for AQA’s institutional business in Italy and served formerly at SanPaolo AM, Symphonia and Fideuram. Alessandro Peluso and Roberto Riolo have been appointed as financial advisers too, joining from Banca Profilo and Fineco, respectively. AQA has also hired Paolo Vicentini as financial analyst, who previously worked at Fortis Bank, Edmond de Rothschild Sgr and Zenit Sgr.

The firm has announced it will keep recruiting more members staff in the coming months with the aim of achieving its target of counting at least on 10 more private bankers in 2019. In order to boost the Milan office, AQA wants to expand its network of bankers in the country, giving them innovative solutions as well as an open platform to attract more clients, InvestmentEurope can reveal.

“By enlarging the network of bankers in the wealth management unit, AQA pursues the innovative business model in which clients are deposited in their banks and AQA has the discretionary portfolio management,” said Alessandro Beggio, responsible for the firm’s wealth management division.
