AGE OF

AQUARIUS

Our name is a true reflection of us and how we operate. AQA stands for the Age of Aquarius, the era in which fraternity, equality, inclusion,  and harmony prevail. An era in which one is encouraged to think outside the box, to innovate, to quickly adapt to the ever changing requirements of the world around him.

These are the values on which our company is built. We want to create wealth for our entire community of stakeholders and build tools which inspire.  We are not re-inventing the wheel. We are just building on the footsteps of pioneers such as Robert Owen and  Adriano Olivetti.

Robert Owen was a textile manufacturer. He strove to improve factory working conditions, promoted experimental socialistic communities, and sought a more collective approach to child rearing, including government control of education. Also known as the “Father of British Socialism”, Owen was, centuries ahead of his time with his ideas of a workers’ utopia, socialist reform and universal charity. By 1817 Owen had formulated the goal of an eight hour working day, with the slogan “eight hours labour, eight hours recreation and eight hours rest”.

Adriano Olivetti owner of the typewriter Olivetti company, with his visionary and generous spirit, he wanted to establish a novel movement of social entrepreneurship aimed not solely at producing goods, but also at giving workers a better life, an education, quality services, while fostering research in technology and science. Profits were re-invested into projects that improved the way of living, and employees were considered as individuals to nurture rather than mere labourers.

Social Responsibility is a term which has been in the limelight for several years and continues to evolve as time goes by. We all have heard about the notion of CSR which has now evolved to ESG. AQA’s idea to focus on humanitarian projects to improve the community’s well-being is embedded in our culture and not simply a marketing tool.

The Age of Aquarius has inspired our name, and the beliefs for the common good for which we strive. If you would like to know more about our work, please visit Responsible Way.
